The fairness cup is an essential piece of teaware used in tea ceremonies. This lipped bowl is used to evenly distribute tea from the brewer (like a Shiboridashi or a gaiwan) into cups, ensuring equal strength and flavor for everyone. After brewing, pour your tea into the fairness cup before serving it into individual cups. Handmade in Kyoto, this piece is crafted using the Kiyomizu ware technique. A white matte glaze is used inside to highlight the tea liquor and for ease of cleaning. For the complete experience, pair it with the matching Shiboridashi brewer from our Shiboridashi set.

Part of our limited collection of teaware brought back from Japan. Available in limited quantities until sold out.

Due to its delicate craftsmanship, this piece is not microwave or dishwasher safe. Please wash gently by hand.
